| Summary |
The concept of diversity in space using adaptive array antennas at the base stations of wireless communication systems have long been debated, and have demonstrated great ability in increasing system capacity, as well as suppressing interferences from undesired users. But, yet the increasing demand for mobile communication services with more improvements in performance is motivating the search for new techniques. This paper shows that implementing array antennas at both the base and mobile stations in a cellular CDMA system results in a substantial increase in capacity over the conventional system using the
array antennas at the base station only. |
