Title Joint Decoding and Transmit Power Control Using Time-Dependent Correlation in Sensor Networks

Summary In a sensor network, a lot of distributed sensor nodes observe a certain area or environment, and transmit the observed data to a sink. The observed data sequences may have space- and/or time-dependent correlation. This correlation is regarded as redundant information and can be used for error correction by the joint decoding. In this paper, we propose the joint decoding scheme using the time-dependent correlation between the continuous data sequences generated by a sensor node. Furthermore we propose the power control scheme using the time-dependent correlation for saving the energy consumption. The packet error rate performance and the energy consumption ratio are evaluated and the effect of our proposed schemes are clarified.
