| Summary |
This paper discusses the influence of the nonlinearity of an analog-to-digital converter (ADC)
in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) receiver.
We evaluate a signal constellation and a bit error rate (BER) performance
with the consideration of quantization errors and clippings.
As a result, the trade off between the quantization error and the clipping
and the optimum range for an ADC input amplitude are shown.
In addition, it is shown that the peak to average power ratio (PAPR) of the signal
is not a good measure of the BER performance,
since the peaks occur only with very low probabilities.
